We have tosun as a back up striker who has just returned from an acl injury and they have a bloke who scored in a champions league final

They are Premier League and world champions and we finished 12th.

Ashley Cole is sadly the best defender if so.

Not sure about this. I think as a pure defender, John Terry is the best I’ve seen in this league. Better than Vidic too.

Rather have Tony Adams. No frills defender that marshalled his back four and got the job done.

Even the likes of Carvalho are miles ahead of Van Dijk. Positionally perfect and technically brilliant off either foot. He could slalom through opposition midfields then slot a through ball he was that good. Van Dijk just bashes long diagonals and shouts and points at the person covering where he should be.

I dislike intensely the pointers: it's grandstanding - making sure the crowd can see what a leader they are.

As much as it pains me as I hate the bloke, he's the best centre half of the Premier League era for me.

City had a centre back called Daniel Van Buyten when Keegan was the manager.
He was everything VVD wants to be. Powerful, good on the ball, good in the air
he very rarely put a foot wrong. I think he went to Bayern Munich. Absolute
top class player that lad was.
