Some great saves there. Nice of the PL to put Pickfords first![]()
Has that bell Mark Moraghan offered out Pickford on twitter yet like he did with Sergio Ramos after Liverpool's 2018 CL final defeat?
Thinking of you in this tough time wat. Hope you can sleep tonight.
God forbid if ajax injures one of their players tonight. If that happens I'll be thinking of you as i know you won't be getting much sleep.
When I played in the 1950's/60's the man you had to worry about most was the guy who came on with a bucket of cold water and a sponge if you got injured. These days people complain about players feigning injury. In those days players used to feign fitness.
I think most of us can relate to events similar.Sorry this is slightly off thread but my previous post (above) reminded me. I was playing in the Yorkshire League against a Colliery side. Always a tough game. Our left full back was a very promising player, only 19. Halfway through the first half he went for a 50/50 tackle. I knew immediately that he was seriously injured. So did the ref, as he blew up immediately (no foul given). Our man with the bucket of cold water and sponge came running on to the pitch. I was just about to walk over to tell him we needed a stretcher when he hauled the lad to his feet. The lad stood on his good leg with his broken leg swinging in the breeze. I swear that this is absolutely true - I heard the 'trainer' tell the lad 'stamp your foot on the ground and it will go away'. The ambulance came half an hour later and took him away. Sadly, the lad was never the same player again.
Changing their name to BBKNEE for 24 hours to show solidarity with virgAre the BBC not doing a special tribute to the knee?
Didn't John Terry get a really bad head injury once?
