ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Desailly had some career, but didn't win much with Chelsea, but he was still some defender.
Aye, the winning things isn't a barometer of how good a player actually is by itself - look at LeTis. However, only being great over two seasons is more pertinent.

Personally, I have to begrudgingly say that VVD is a top player and may be eventually be held in the highest regard, but there's still some way to go though.

When I watch him play however, I don't see someone who plays for Liverpool but rather himself. A top offer comes in from a top club (Madrid etc.) and he'll be gone.

He doesn't get injured anymore.
He was constantly picking up injuries at Southampton.
Weird that.

Also most of his plaudits ie last two seasons has coincided with Mane, Salah, Robertson and TAA going absolutely ham. Teams are scared to attack because they get ripped on the counter nullifying threat out wide and having three sitting midfielders in front of you surely makes your job easier

I get what your saying but it’s not like Carragher or Danny Murphy said it, it was Kompany, City legend and City mouthpiece, why would he be implicit in a Liverpool &@£&fest? Get this, people have opinions, whilst I don’t agree with it. Don’t let it get to you. Quite a few of this Liverpool side are on UEFA lists, European lists, World lists Etc etc because they are very good. Not everyone has a Kopite agenda, sometimes people can appreciate very good players no matter who they play for.

I'm positive it's been amended and misquoted by a kopite journalist. VVD is good, very good - no denying it, but he's not as good as Kompany himself, or Vidic, or Ferdinand, or as influential as Terry or Staam. Pointing and 10 yard passes seems to be VVD's main influence.

Imagine the footy did come back an they actually managed to bottle it. It won’t happen like but it would be glorious. Especially with the way them and their fans have acted during this time of crisis.

Why wouldn't it?

Neutral venues, no home support, the players already thinking it's won so not fully switched on.

It could happen.

They play players through injuries and always have done. Any player they sell ends up breaking down or becoming a shell of their former ability levels after leaving there. No one is giving me a logical explanation as to how Daniel Sturridge was able to complete a near full uninterrupted season in 2013/14 as they just happened to be going for the league title.

Just like how Coutinho and Emre Can have both fallen of a cliff since leaving. Coutinho was arguably Brazil’s best player when at Liverpool, Fabinho meanwhile couldn’t make the squad and if he did it was as a back up right back. A mere 12 months later and Coutinho is being bounced from club to club whilst Fabinho is now hailed as one of the best holding mids in the world.

they only need to bottle a game or two fro give time for a few teams to get Covid +ve players and the whole house of cards to fall over.
