I remember watching that game in the second half like a car crash.
Even at 3-2 Rodgers was pushing forward for more goals when the obvious
and sensible thing to do would have been to shut the game down. I actually
think he put on another forward at 3-2? Deserved everything they got that night.
I remember reading a newspaper article afterwards where one the Palace players
said they got riled by the way Liverpool just thought they could run in 6 goals or more
because they needed them and responded accordingly. It really was a tactical masterclass
of how not to do it that night. Richard Emery excelled himself!
