ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

They were so confident in March when lockdown kicked off the football would return and they'd get the title.

Now leagues around the world finishing with no champions, rumours that they're in financial trouble, lurkers on here having meltdowns.

Think it's finally dawning on them they might not be champions and it is beautiful to watch. Like the dying embers of a bonfire.

I've missed some fun , here . Was that the whopper/cryer's one and only post ?
One post and then binned off. Let's be honest, I fully understand why Liverpool fans would want the season finished because of their clear vested interest.

You can't argue that they've haven't been the best team this season, and if we were in that position (close to the title) you'd be feeling nervous and aggrieved.

However, the reason we'd be feeling the same would be because of the same vested interest: their only real concern right now is for their own success.

If you take away the tinted glasses with the subjective perspective, football isn't important and the likelihood of the league finishing is getting slimmer all the time.

Should this season being delayed impact on next season, which with the year after are two congested seasons due to internationals, and the cup competitions?

Also, you've got the health of the players, the staff, sponsors and many other competitions and it's being balanced versus the desires of one or a few teams.

It is unfair on them - let's be honest - but it is not just about them. If they could acknowledge at least that, perhaps there'd be more sympathy for them.

I don't suspect they will though because far too many of their following are entrenched in their one-dimensional dogma. A very simple question for them...

... if football was to restart and someone died, or more than one person died, would they be happy for people to look at who to blame? Would they feel guilt?

This is all about peoples lives pure and simple! If they're given the title, so be it and let them and others deal with the potentinal legal ramifications of it.

And even if it's given to them, they'll be denied the attention seeking 'Look at us, Look at us' celebration that they've been dreaming about for years.

Nope loads have said give yous the title. I'd give it to you so you all pipe down and give it a rest. No one would ever view it as a real title.

I've already taken to calling it the Covid cup and the RS lose it at that. they are in a lose lose situation as far as I can see. if they get it without playing the games then its a COVID cup and not a real one. if they insist on playing behind closed doors they will never be able to say YNWA (but they will) because the club clearly values a piece of silver over the heath and safety of everyone required to make home games happen. (which we seem to know is already the case but they are oblivious or willfully ignorant)

I love this thread. I've also noticed that they have said How dare you think we'll all go to Anfield when none of us congregated to remember the Hillsborough dead this year. Therefore once using the death of 96 people as some sort of get out of jail free card. They have no shame or sense of awareness.

This is what is truly freaking the RS mutants out.

It's not just the chance that they may be denied the PL trophy, it's all the b******t that would have went with it.

Hotels were planning to charge Scandinavian tourists thousands of quid for a 2 night stay, all now binned.

No big parade, no banners and flags, and the RS will be presented with the trophy in an empty and neutral ground.

Despite this, they will not be able to help themselves, and we will witness vandalism on Rupert's tower, graffiti on the Goodison walls, and the cops having to deal with 'celebratory' parties.

SCUM OF THE HIGHEST ORDER.

Funny thing is

If the league announced tomorrow they had been awarded the league then where's.the celebrations?

Not quite the same as getting to the last game of the season. No going out partying , simply mentioned in the media.

And they know they have it , whatever the scenario they know they have won it. So not only is it anticlimactic but they can't even celebrate it

The fans and the club have shamelessly weaponised Hillsborough for many years. It's one of the main reasons they get a completely
free ride in the press. They are scared stiff to criticise them.

Just wait until they weaponize Covid19 - it's coming believe me.
The first banner or mention of their asterisk title - will be spun round as a direct slur or insult on all the people who have died of Covid - they're experts at this kind of thing.
