Why did it take someone with no symptoms for it to 'hit home'. Is 10,000 dead not enough?

I know Its pathetic, its the media hanging off him waiting for a story to quote his name, The Echo published the numbers of the local death toll the other day, i forget what they are locally but its a lot, but there was an old guy who survived the crush at Leppings Lane, I've seen several people mention him on Twitter, no mention of him from Klopp but King Kennys runny nose and it hits home, its nonsense.
