ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I read something before the match that pretty much this Team had been turning out in that lower league cup comp and hadn’t won a game against proper lower league dross including Accrington Stanley.

I didn’t watch last night but it’s no surprise they got a thumping given those results.

Only on sky could they somehow turn a 5-0 defeat against Aston Villa's second team into some sort of moral victory for the RS. To answer their question though, no, a 5-0 loss can never, ever, EVER under any set of circumstances ever be impressive. EVER!(n)FB_IMG_1576666444926.jpg

Anyone read the BBC Sport match report on last night's match? It's entitled "Villa overwhelm Liverpool's youngest-ever team" and the report was filled with tons of stats to ram home just how young and inexperienced the Liverpool team was, and how it was a "unique game". Apparently, their combined shirt numbers were 737! How kopite-ish was it to even think of totting up those shirt numbers.

They talk about how much possession the RS had, but were "undone by two freak goals." Er, they lost 5-0.

My personal favourite was "Of course, given the unique circumstances, the result should almost come with an asterisk." Typical unbiased reporting from the BBC. It reads more like a match report from someone on RAWK.

I had to check it for myself because BBC is the only English website I read when it comes to English football news.
They also added this - Football statistics do not work like that though, so into the record books the result will go.

They just can’t enjoy the ride they’re on at the minute. The Ancelotti and Usmanov links has got them rattled.
Ancelotti is a good coach and if you manage to sign him (I hope you do), then all thats needed is for the board to chuck out the rubber ducks and get some proper footballers. That would indeed make the derbyies interesting.
