I said much the same myself mate. In the Bundesliga he got away with what he does, not here. He was never going to adapt.

Never forget his debut when he did a couple of simple things in the first few minutes and Jamie Redknapp compared him to Gerrard. Then when it became apparent the lad couldn't pass a ball the commentators absolutely refused to even acknowledge it.

Carried the ball for about 40 / 50 yards all day long for Leipzig; absolutely swarmed all over in the PL when he tries it.

Atrocious scouting for a player that cost £50M or whatever it was.

Technically, from the start of this season, he is better for them than Gueye is for us.

Well your not wrong. They have some quality players no doubt but there midfield is workman like said since last season they need an Andre Gomes, couthino type player

They have an excellent front free. Good attacking full backs. And all that midfield needs to do is support them and not do anything exceptional and they're in business. If everything is going their way like it did last season, then workman is all they need.

Negate the front three and the full backs and that midfield is inadequate. I expect that one or more of the front three of Mane, Salah and Firminho to hit a brick wall this season as they've had over a season going all out, with very little rest over summer. Unfortunately the wheels falling off will not drop them out of the top 4, but fingers crossed it will.

Ironically, what has been their Achilles's heal for so long - the defence, is what they'll be relying on to keep them in the mix, so no pressure of Van Dijk there then. If Alisson is out for any length of time, and the front three misfire at all, then it really could be problem time over there.

That’s all pretty reasonable and fair, and the loss of Allisson is going to test out the defensive solidity we’ve built, as having a goalie the players trust both with his hands and his feet is almost as big as van dijks presence.

We’ve started the season looking a bit ropey at the back; so we’ll see.
