ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

What damning indictment? I think English football is a bubble that's bound to burst. Is it really fun to be dependent on investors that in the best case don't really give a damn about anything than their own bank accounts and in the worst case are human rights abusing villain states? Is it something to be proud of to be one of the 'assets' of a multi-club owner? Is it cool to have stadia full of tourists and no atmosphere whatsoever in many grounds, especially at the 'top' clubs? What fraction of the money Liverpool spent in the last transfer window have Frankfurt spent in the last 5 years? I'd rather have Bundesliga teams not perform too well in at this point pretty farcical European competitions and still have some connection to fans, no disgusting investors completely taking over clubs (yes, there is an obvious exception that everyone else absolutely abhors) and proper atmosphere in the stadium.

The PL is blown up garbage.
Broadly I agree the money is disgusting, however:

That does not look like a healthy league to me.

Damning indictment on the Bundesliga, as I’ve seen a few of their league games this season and they looked boss
Thing with Bundesliga teams is they play the same way every week. Frankfurt didn't appear to have watched any of the teams that have recently beat them and look to copy the way they did it. Went 1-0 up and got caught with an equaliser you usually see from a team 0-1 down in the 90th minute piling bodies forward to try and draw level.

First half stoppage time - Brentford’s players and fans protested about how long the half had been allowed to go on for.

Full time stoppage time - but despite another extended period of stoppage time…

That will get lost in the whole hurrah of the added on time at the end. The get them back into the game plucked from nowhere minutes in the first.

@Alan Whittle

Crossing fingers Palace can continue the fun on Wednesday !

I'd honestly written that game off a bit as I thought they had to sort themselves out by now and our squad would be too stretched to take it too seriously but now I think there's no reason not to go there and stick it on them again. They'll hand us chances like they do with everyone these days and it's not like we have to worry about Klopp's press, the bald Dutch fraud has got rid of that by now
