ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I made a decision at the start of the season to not watch them or have anything to do with them and it makes life a far more tranquil place. They can't stand it in work when I just go 'I didn't see it you know'.

I’ve been doing this for the last 10 years. There’s simply no point sitting there wasting your time supporting the opposition, because they lose about 4 games per season in all competitions. I genuinely think they’ve lost about 2 games in front of fans at Anfield since Klopp first came in.

You’re right about the most annoying thing for them being the attention not being on them. That’s really the only way to “beat” them in any sort of banter war. “Didn’t watch it mate, not interested in Liverpool sorry. Who’s Harvey Elliott?”

I can actually see Newcastle winning that final.

Liverpool are nowhere near a great team. Pressure off Newcastle. A player like Isak who can win a game on his own and cancels out Salah at that. Tonali is in fine form and will create. And if it get's late on in a game and it's not decided - or it goes to ET - that run around Liverpool got last night will be telling.

11/4 for Newcastle against this far from impressive Liverpool team: that's a real value bet for anyone who gambles.

And the bottom line is that it's the LC and therefore doesn't even matter anyway.

Absolutely not, Newcastle will roll over and fold like a wet flannel.

I dont think they will.

If it was the FA Cup final which has a bit more prestige to it then Ild say yeah, probably. But the LC is low hanging fruit. The pressure is off and Liverpool are there for the taking. It's not ideal to have been run utterly ragged in the CL days before the final, that's for sure.

Newcastle will win this game in normal time - and maybe by a couple of goals.

I never do mate it just grinds my gears watching them ,life is so much pleasanter if you just refuse to acknowledge there existence.

I maintain they are nothing special and that the standard of top teams in European football is at the lowest level it's been for quite some time.

Madrid and Barca's squads are not at the level they once were. Bayern are not amazing. Serie A doesn't have a single club capable of winning champs league. City are gash, United are gash, Arsenal are still Arsenal, Chelsea gash.

This Liverpool squad is simply not on the level of Klopps best sides, not even close imo. Yet they are going to walk the league.

  • City have been frightened off winning the PL for 5 years in a row because of politics
  • Arsenal of the last 3 years would win this title handily, but they fell off with key injuries then refused to buy in January and held the white flag up
  • Liverpool have been handed in the region of 10-15 (easily) free points from corrupt decisions

That's why they'll win the PL with loads of points to spare.

It's politics and not talent that's winning them it. FFS, one of the worst Everton teams for years outplayed them and should have beaten them at Goodison a few weeks ago. They're Salah plus luggage.
