ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

How anyone can call him a great player is beyond me. If they want to laude his offensive capabilities, move him further up the pitch.

He’s a defender, he can’t defend and looks unwilling to even attempt to: strolls back; hacks at ball; looks disinterested when they concede.

The VVD myth has evaporated too.

That video above that our resident sour-puss so casually dismissed is really interesting on that. VVD just isn't working as hard as he used to, his positioning is lazy. Teams have also figured out a really simple way to isolate Alexander-Arnold and exploit his weakness. Van Dijk is enabling that.

Loads of their problems this year are. down their right. Doesn't help that Joe Gomez is rubbish, like.

Equally, Alexander-Arnold's shambolic performances is isolating VVD as he knows he has to cover the floppy haired charlatan as he can't be relied upon.

But the 'best defender in der wurrrrld' shouldn't be getting caught out so often, should he? The whole team appear to lack the effort their system requires.

Normally plays on the opposite side to Alexander Arnold, I think. But you're right, he's moving into spaces he shouldn't have to. There's a still on the video of him getting bunched up with Robertson leaving about 3 acres. between himself and. Gomez.

….I think Milner is almost psychotic in his determination to win matches for LFC. I reckon Klopp wants him on the pitch more for his crazy mentality than his ability. It’s like he’s in a trance.

i love players who play like the game matters but this bloke takes it to an almost weird level, I think his teammates are scared of him.

i always feel teams have a chance when I see him getting game time. I wonder if he’ll manage them one day.

That’s the question they now look like they lack the effort for the system. Is it because they aren’t cheating because of the World Cup. They looked exactly the same during the lockdown season losing at Anfield and really struggling. then like magic they was back. I Wouldn’t be surprised if they are suddenly back after the World Cup. I no people like the joke but if you actually look at it then it honestly stinks of something going on.

He does - Matip is on the right of the two - but if you look he's coming towards the right more than I expect Klopp will like. This is due to the hole over there.

When you have a full back who stays up top and only ambles back when defending, if he does at all, one of the two central defenders needs to cover him.

Teams are finding space, running at them and causing them to stretch. Look at Brighton's third goal today and they're all over the place.

He certainly looks angrier there than at any other clubs he's been at.
