So many articles about Southgate not selecting England’s fourth choice right back. The media seemingly don’t care about any single player being in or out the squad except for ‘Trent’. Ridiculous obsession, the lad can’t defend, hence why he’s not suitable for international football where defences win tournaments.

Let's be fair: Cafu never had much defending to do himself. He's famed for his attacking ability. If he sees himself in "Trent", it's probably at the corner flag in the opposition's end of the field. Or perhaps he fancies him.

It is honestly one of the craziest things I have ever seen in football, the fights that the media are having to see who can get the furthest up Alexander-Arnold's arse is astonishing. The lengths that they will go to ingratiate themselves with them lot is just purely astonishing, there is not any right minded sane football fan in the country who thinks that Alexander-Arnold is better than James, never mind Trippier and Walker.
All they need to see is his ambling back and not giving a crap defending on a weekly basis to say that any team, at International level, will just pile players to his side and create chances for fun, Pickford would likely stop them but some may go in
Danny Mills maybe a typical media bad bell, but at least he’s called out Alexander Arnold’s lack of defensive ability and rightly thinks he shouldn’t be in the England WC squad.

Defence is king in international football. Look at France last time who played with practically 4 centrebacks. It’s not often flying fullbacks win world cups.
In the big games one positional mistake costs you a goal that a top level side simply won’t ever give back up. They don’t all balloon the ball into the kop when one on one three times a game either at that level. He’s a walking World Cup killer yet the media are falling over themselves trying to get him in the team ignoring multiple league winner Kyle Walker and probably best all round full back Reece James.
