ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

How can anyone begin to argue that we never cost them the title. It’s not rocket science.

They come to Goodison at the top knowing if they win every game left they win the league. They draw at Goodison and win every game following that but it’s all irrelevant. Every league win they got after Goodison was irrelevant as the dream died that day.

Kopite going mad now on Talk Sport saying how the fixtures are set up against Liverpool and in favour of City

Typical. Both have three back-to-backs against other Top 6 opponents. Both have the same splits in the Top 6 fixtures -- three home, two away in the first half, the reverse in the latter part of the season. About the only thing they might have to bitch about is they play Arsenal (A), Chelsea (H) and Newcastle (A) in their last three games of the season whereas City ahs Bournemouth (H), Watford (A) and Norwich (H). Big frigging deal. We have two runs of four straight against Top 6 (5 of 7 if you include City on New Year's Day). Give them that and their heads would truly explode. Always the victims....

I can understand some kopites being in denial over this, the one fixture they usually walk is the one that swung it to City, but there are some blues who wont accept it, mainly because they cant give them childish hate for Keane and Pickford up.

Apparently they lost it at City in January, even though after that loss they were still 4pts clear

Thats the logical position to take, which will mean it will be the position they don't take. Any discussion of where they bottled it is going to severely annoy their narcissism. The talk of us costing them the league doubly so. I am all for it. keep repeating it and watch the anger levels sore.

And in truth, bottle it they did. Once again any negativity against them has been airbrushed from history.
They held a 10 point lead after the new year (City had a game in hand) and they blew it. They came to the Etihad and a win would have put them 10 points clear in total. The league would have been over and done with.
It was after that when Klopp started to be far more cautious. He genuinely did blow it against United. That game was there to take.Champions don't blow 10 point leads. They win the big games when they really have to.
They don't go all cautious at a crucial stage in the season. They simply couldn't get over the line and that is what
champions do. If City had blown a 10 point lead from that exact same position it would have been the biggest bottle job ever in the history of the Premier League. I made these points recently to a kopite I unfortunately met a party and he flounced off in a huff! So all the more reason to shout it from the roof tops...

I'm not sure how you've baited me into anything unless you're implying I'm a kopite. I just think this thread is a bit cringey. Blues laughing at them over very little, pretending they're not a good team after they've just won the Champions League.

Your time is nearly up once again friend. You tried gallantly but in the end you just couldn’t resist entering this thread to bat away any criticism of the tricky reds. Hope you’ve still got those Champions League pictures at the ready for your next meltdown.

The game where Utd had three injuries inside 30 mins wasn't it

Champions don't throw away massive leads, but Kopites do.

Yep - that was the one. United were in serious trouble but Klopp bottled it.
That game was more than winnable. They sat off and went for the draw.
Same when they came to the Etihad. Klopp set up for the draw and they
only came out after we went 2-1 up. These are the big games that champions win
simply because they have to. Losing the league last season hurt them more than
they will ever admit. It will have damaged them. Their pain is our energy...
