ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

Just noriced the next 4 Premier League weekends, well starting with this one, City play before Liverpool. That's nice as long as City get the point to put the pressure on.
The one weekend that Liverpool go first, is a Friday night game for them, away at Southampton in April, by then Southampton are going to be desperate for points.

Something has to give, and a just hope it isn't the PL.

They’ve boxed off the Carling cup now without any damage to this week of fixtures. They have a maximum of 3 games in the FA cup one of which is away at Swansea. If Liverpool bow out early against Bayern then the CL might take its toll on City but who knows what effect it might have on Liverpool. The egos in that Liverpool team like Salah Mane and Van Dijk absolutely love preening about in the CL. They might not react well to going out early in that.

Liverpool wont get past Bayern. They'll just have the PL, and City will still be fighting on 3 more fronts. That's just too much. Itls why I refuse to make City favourites of any description to win the title.

Bayern are playing very well in their match right now. Hopefully, if they knock that lot out of the CL, it will cause their confidence to crumble.

I'd rather they stayed in until the SFs. They're never going to win it. Four more games in Europe would even things up a bit with City's workload. Some of their players are playing in their 35th/36th games already.

De Bruyne out "for a while" - Guardiola.

That's how you lose a title: stretching youself in competitions like the FA Cup and LC.

Strategically it's moronic to give those trophies your all if your objective is the PL and CL.

They need quick recoveries from Laporte and Fernandinho (and Liverpool to get a crock or two) or this title is headed to Anfield for sure.

No chance Dave, sooner the knobheads are knocked out the more pressure it just ramps up on Klopp and their players. I want us to absolutely stuff them, then I want Bayern to absolute stuff them, then whoever they have next I want them to stuff them.

Pep has been ticking along, rotating when he can to try and keep the players fresh and they've just come through tough week with injuries and still picked up a pot and 6 points.

We simply need three points for ourselves first and foremost tomorrow and the bonus of that is it will put a dent in their title challenge.

De Bruyne has not been in top form all season. City actually play better when the two Silvas are in the middle. Hopefully a few easy fixtures and the international break will allow some of their players to return. Liverpool have led a charmed life with injuries to their main players. Hopefully they’ll pick up a few in the run in to even things up.

A lot of these City players will be hitting almost 58/60 games for the season; if Liverpool's players are playing about 8/10 games less on average then that is a massive extra burden. Itls draining both physically and mentally...many coming off summer world cups.

It just cant be done. If Liverpool are kept in the CL for another 4 matches after this then that MAYBE makes an impact.

As things stand (and you can see City's players dropping like nine pins now) Liverpool will win this title by a couple of points.

I just dont get the chase for the LC from Man City. Or the FA Cup. Itls daft and it;ll cost them on the two biggest trophies.

Fernandinho is a huge blow. Laporte also. Ok, Liverpool had Gomes who got done early - IMO a more useful CB than even VVD - but City are going to feel these games now. I think they have to tank that cup game against Swansea.
