ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

It was a scandal they won at Palace last season. One of the worst refereeing displays I’ve ever seen. The difference between top 4 or not. Hopefully Hodgson gets a similar performance out of them. Teams have to do a lot to win against Liverpool though when the refs are in the sort of mood where they give offside goals for them and deny legitimate ones against with alarming regularity.

Palace are very ordinary, but quite well organised. They threw it away last season. I suspect they may get a draw. Liverpool need a win mind.

We're better than making comments like this mate. Leave such nonsense to the reds.
With all due respect as someone who agrees with a lot you say, Sod off. We got f’ed over by the lovable red men when they decided to act like animals. They’d rather we all forgot they got us chucked out of Europe for being absolute scum and the whole stain on their clubs been forgotten.

Feel free to bump this but considering we’re doing our preseason in the actual season, it’s a bold statement to make, but, considering they’re the self confessed champions elect...........I think we’ll be above them in the middle of October.

We’ll get better and better as it goes on as well so where this will end up I have no idea.

Easy with that. Let's get 3 points of our own first. I do think we can beat them this season though and not just bunker and pray but actually go out and try to play and beat them

Honestly, if we go out and play at Anfield we will be ripped apart. Name one team that has adopted that approach and came off better for it? To get results against these you have to be organised and wait for your moments.

Maybe I wasn't clear. I get you can't press and open yourself up but last year we didn't even try to complete passes to each other. I think we will play on the counter but actually have a plan and the intention to try and score

Fair enough. The way Allardyce approached the two league games was a disgrace but somehow he remained unbeaten. I think we could have them at Goodison this year but knowing our luck we will have injuries and suspensions all over the pitch.

Stay compact and rough them up. They really don't like it up 'em.

Unlucky Liverpool eh? Liverpool 4 Birmingham 3 (1972-73) just on BT Sport... it's 3-3, late on, and a hopeful cross from Brum is aimed into the box... the Liverpool defender misreads it and heads it into his own net... but hang on.. the ref finds some mysterious reason to disallow the goal and, lo, the RS go up the other end and score a late winner. Neatly followed by a decent challenge by Hatton on Emlyn the Moan.. which Emlyn reacts badly to, Hatton squares up to him, several players get involved. Guess who got a yellow card and who didn't.

So that's it, league over, lets hand it to them now.
As their expectation grows so the level of fury grows as it unfolds, there's an unhealthy violence bubbling just below the surface.
