Early Goals are killing US

Nordecke

Player Valuation: £35m
So it's obvious that The USMNT is conceding early goals each and every game.. We have had a problem with this for a long time.. During qualifications I can think of a few times this happened.. El Salvador, we went down 2 and came back to draw.. (At Home) !!

We are always making games harder then they need to be..

It seams that our shape at the beginning of games is of a very low level..

How do we fix this? :confused2:

Got to fix the leaking in the first half. I'm really not sure how we can combat this with our squad selection at the moment. We just have to score more than the Algerians or we are booking a flight home.

Ritalin for all hands.... we have collective adhd as a team -- until all is in chaos and last-minute disaster looms, we cannot ever seem to get our [Poor language removed] together.

Apart from that, sit Gooch -- he's NOT match fit, mentally, he's not got the edge yet, and now is not the time to be playing him into shape

Timmy can probably secure a prescription.

Are you positive on Gooch? I'm not disagreeing, just still mixed on it. W/o Gooch I don't feel we'll make it past 1st knockout game. W/ a healthy fit Gooch, I think our potential is MUCH higher. But I share your concerns.

Hope that the next defenders to come through are better than the current ones.

There's no quick fix here, there's a reason Jay DeMerit has just been released by Watford.

DeMerit has been great these past two games.. If your going to stir the pot, atleast make sense.

He's a certain level of defender, as are his teammates, that's why you'll struggle to keep clean sheets.

That's all I can offer you.

He's not world class.. in fact none of our players are.. That's why when we get results we are proud of our boys, and their teamwork..

Wait a minute??!! We're allowed to score 1st???

Actually what this WC has needed is more slapdash defending. We are really the only team in the whole tourney who's good enough to score 3 while also being bad enough defensively to give up the same.

Very disappointed in Onyewu. He should be the guy who takes charge and straightens things out back there but his own level of play is atrocious.

Onyewu played well against England and for the most part only made 1 mistake. He's actually been better than I thought he'd be in the WC given the fact that's he's not close to 100 Percent. Today he wasn't as good but Torres consistently pinging the ball back to him didn't help.

He's going to struggle defensively the whole tourney given his fitness. What he's going to have to do then is produce offensively on corners/free kicks to make up for it.
