Used it for my Dutch when I was in hospital a couple of years ago. Helped a lot to drill sentence construction.

Haha, Dutch sounds very rude, even more than German (I love German)

I always think Polish people sound permanently angry.

I speak Flemish Dutch which is a bit softer on the ear,.

What's the catch with it? I always find free language apps like this only give you a tiny percentage of the program for free then you have to pay for the rest.

In this one, no, you only pay to avoid ads, nothing else. they get lots of donations afaik

It's ok for a while.

I use Preply now though. One on one tutoring so it's not free but I learnt more in one lesson than I did in weeks of free apps.

I used it to learn a few words of Welsh on a whim.
It was a good app but I have always had only a little ability to remember foreign vocabulary so it was an uphill battle.

I got irritated by all the motivational gimmicks which for me are not necessary and a bit patronising.
The nagging emails I got when I stopped altogether though? Geesh!

I used it for Danish for about 6 months, found it really good for that. Currently using it to learn some Greek, not finding it as easy to learn, the different alphabet doesn't help like.

Arabic is a challenge.
