....glad he played Schneiderlin, he had to protect the back four given the lack of defensive pace we have. Thought the Richarlison substitution was brave and right, but the position taken up by Davies a bit bizarre. Regardless, he got a tune out of the players and gave the fans a lift.

Felt like the closest we'll see to a Simeone type model today.

Old school 2 banks of 4, defend for your lives but at the same time press the opposition in the right areas to make it feel like they can't breathe anywhere.

Best outcome from this other than the win for the big man was having Moshiri in attendance, been a long time since goodison rocked from fight, passion, commitment and aggression and hopefully that's now shown the blueprint of what an Everton manager needs to be.

Listening to the post match stuff on the tube, it seems like he just got the players playing for themselves and the badge "The Everton Way" (their own words) which makes you wonder why Silva couldn't manage this if it really was that simple ? I guess his stubbornness was his downfall

Also in terms of his coaching ability he must be teaching something right because Richi has become deadly in the air

I think it was smart to stack the front line and take advantage of Sidibe’s form on the attacking side. He made the best out of a horrible situation with our central midfield and made sure that they weren’t depended on to win this game.

Two things of note today.

He looked very smart in his suit. Looked like a proper manager.

The players all seem to like/respect him. Found that very noticeable at the end.

For sure. Also nice to hear Theo and DCL refer to him as Big Dunc as if he's one of the lads, yet the respect was still obvious and they were obviously well aware of just how important Everton is to him.
