Unfortunately Matt, breaking your TV remote also breaks your TV these days.

Ask your neighbour if you can watch her TV with her, then stretch your arm out and put it round her.

Failing that, fill the battery compartment with a Sawdust / Bleach mix, and wait for 45 mins.

Never fails.

Have you tried pointing the cuppa at the TV and pressing the handle ?
The remote's capability may have been transferred to the cup, a similar thing happened in Dr Who once with his sonic screwdriver.

I'm sure there must be something in the forum rules which says you mustn't encourage someone to kill themselves but this made me laugh out loud, which gives the game away somewhat when you're at work.
