DRAW FOR THE NEXT ROUND

Agreed......the League Cup is proper on and we need to put our best team out.

So now Bobby's goalkeeping dilemna crystallises.

Does he regard Timmy as No.1 and put him in the League Cup team at Boro?

Or does he stick with Joel?

And there lies a problem when he chooses one keep for the cups and one for the league.

Let's say he goes with strongest team in his opinion, drops Robles and Howard makes a howler. That's Bobbys fault.

What happens of he picks Robles and he has a mare and everyone says Bobby didn't pick his strongest 11. That's Bobbys fault.

That's why it should be the keeper in form plays no matter what so imo Robles should be given a run now in the lead up to that game.

Exactly my thoughts. Really the goalie plan is based on the belief that we wont get past the 4th round isn't it?

Can't believe I've seen some people disappointed with this draw. It could have been better and could have been worse but at the end of the day if we can't beat a championship side in the quarter finals of a cup, we don't deserve to win it.

Also, agree that Martinez has to go full strength now, it's a real shot for us. IF we can get past Boro and avoid City in the semi-finals, we could be on for a Wembley and a real shot at this!

it kind of reminds me when southall took over from jim arnold. there wasn't alot to dislike about arnold. he cost us a few goals in his latter seasons but he wasn't a bad keeper. in his early days southall wasn't the rock he became either. in fact he was pretty nervy untll he got a good run in the side and it was brave leadership by howard kendall to change the guard when he did. i was very critical of robles (and still not sure if he is always positionally perfect) but he made some great saves in the last few games that i've seen him in including that one-handed last minute save against norwich
