it is I agree, but all these albums represent different periods of my life and many different memories

but as far as I'm concerned I'm loving the clash self titled debut just as much as London Calling nowadays

That first clash album is the bollocks

I know All Mod Cons and Sound Affects are the two most pick, but Setting Sons always stood out for me. And the Modern World was also much underrated. One album of theirs I cant abide: The Gift. Brass section-riven tosh.

Setting Sons and Sound Affects are to me, The Jam's Rubber Soul and Revolver

The Gift is admittedly a bit of a nod to somewhere else that Weller wanted to be musically

Weller voted Tory in '79.

No he didnt mate

The Jam said they were going to vote Tory to wind up the 'fashionable' trendy left wing student based London Punk scene who were trying to be ooohhh sooo working class which most of them werent

Weller got caught up in the music scene at that time which was dominated by all these divvy bands getting a brass section in.

While we're at it...

Prety much nailed on there Dave a couple of decent tracks on the gift though Happy together and Ghosts were class

This is true style council were dog****e

After The Jam I picked up on Weller again with Wild Wood, which was great. I wasn't fussy about the follow up stuff though. And I haven't got a clue what he did after Heavy Soul.
