He's a winger and Chelsea have bought him for the Hazard replacement, if Chelsea had a proper DoF they should have gone all out for Nicolas Pepe at Lille who's twice the player of Pulisic if they wanted a young dynamic winger.

Is he better than Salah and Mane, that is a resounding no, he doesn't score much in a weak league and he doesn't have electric pace. I can see why they turned their attentions to Timo Werner, better finisher, quicker and can player in all 3 positions in a front 3 and he's available for a lower price of around £40 million.

Even Sarri was shocked they bought him when asked about him after the deal was done, he obviously didn't rate him either.

Bundesliga is awful, i'm amazed they still get 3 spots in the CL, Bayern's dominance and financial advantage and ability to cherry pick their rivals best players has made the league awful.
Shame Liverpool didn't get him then.

He's over hyped, but the comparison to Freddy Adu is more of a stretch than what the media is doing with Pulisic. You sound bitter.

I think the issues with Pulisic is partly the over-hyped thing, maybe from a US standpoint. But also, the problem was, he burst onto the scene very positively for Dortmund, at such a young age, and that always makes people sit up and take notice. Unfortunately for him, multiple coaching changes later, his form dipped, as did his apperances, and with it maybe his confidence. Plus a badly timed injury at the start of this season handed the initiative to Sancho and also Bruun-Larsen to an extent. So by the time he was fit again he was well behind in the playing order. And it's looked all the worse for other young players on the same team as him in Dembele and now Sancho, making far bigger impressions and quicker progress, which amplifies his slower progress.

Only time will tell if the early hype and early signs are a true indication of his talent level.

I agree. I actually have faith in him that he'll turn out to be the best US born player in his time. Which may not say much, but I've seen his touch, his timing, positioning, and drive. He's going to pan out on an international level for the US undoubtedly. Whether Chelsea is his best move or not, I don't know. I would have preferred him to go to more of a mid table team, say, Everton and get more of a run with less immediate pressure.

We'll see how it works out. The one thing I know is that if he fails, it won't be because of a lack of his own effort.
