2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Erm ok? Cunha scored 15 league goals and DCL scored 3?
So in basic terms Man U have paid 4.5 million a goal for a player from their nearest rivals and in so doing weakened them.

We could pay DCL 4.5 million a goal or look at teams above us with that figure in mind for a striker from the teams above us that would weaken their position.

We shouldn't look at teams who finished below us :)

I genuinely think he’ll end up at a PL team that’s qualified for Europe. Interesting how he references Richy on the high performance interview as someone he thought he played well with. I don’t think the CF role is nailed down to one person there and he’d get the CL opportunity he wants. Arsenal maybe as well. They are crying out for a 9, and while he’s not necessarily going to get any supporters excited at the Emirates or be the number one option, he’d be an option for them, particularly when they need to move away from plan A at times. The more I think about it, the more I’m certain he’s going to a PL club. If he was going abroad, he could be open about it as they could talk from January. The real niggle I have is that he goes to Mordor as a replacement for Nunez. They seem to be touting him for £50m+(?!?!?) and DCL on a free brings them a striker who is good in the air and hold up play. Not the pressure there either to bag every game as regular goal scorers in the team. Hands over my head awaiting pesters, but could genuinely see that happening. Those 3 clubs all seem to have managers who go with an arm round the shoulder, again the approach he said he prefers. I’d rather he stays as think he can be an asset under Moyes but think the ship has sailed. And if it’s sailed because we are trying to implement some proper structure around wages/budget, then that’s much needed progress on that front I suppose.

What are you going on about?

Wonder if there is a reason why no premier league clubs , or any clubs for that matter appear to be showing a modicum of interest ?

Chess game isn't it. I'm sure he'll be on clubs lists as his agent will be doing his job to find him employment.

But they'll also know what he's asking for which will no doubt put certain clubs off.

Longer they sit it out, his agent will be happy if a war between clubs starts as it'll get his client and himself nearer to what they want.

The opposite of that is no one comes in unless his demands go down or a club panic buys in the window and pays him what they want.

He's a capable premier league player. But not £100k a week levels. The same situation can be labelled at Doucoure.

I hope we announce a contract extension, on the day the RS sign Wirtz, showing Doms goals on a sizzle reel, his winner v the RS in the derby, as he walks out in a skort into the centre circle of BMD and says "This is my home, always will be" He looks directly into the camera as Harry Styles music plays on the tannoy, Dom looks into the sky... and

I’ve just asked myself what you’re going on about, and I’m still non the wiser. So I thought I’d check in.
I better mention Dom or I'll be on the naughty step, but call it a rule of thumb for the valuation of a striker:

1 goal a season 4.5 million
10 goals a season 45 million
20 goals a season 90 million

At the current market rate.

They are just numbers you have invented in your own head though aren’t they?

If we paid £4.5m per goal for Dom he’d still cost us less than Maupay anyway.
