As people have said these are different type of strikers, Beto is a better finisher but DCL is a better target man and bringing other players into the game.

DCL has given this club 8 years service for a fee of £1.5 mil he has been a bargain he has had to work under some dreadful managers, he has always given his all for the club, it is also very apparent that he thinks a lot about the club, so everytime Beto scores DCL name shouldn’t come up, let's just enjoy having 2 strikers when the time comes who can offer different aspects to the team.

true in what you say, he has been out of form but also add in the goals against Liverpool Crystal Palace Spurs West Ham away last season to name a few they are quality goals and important as well, like I say rather than when another player comes good we slate another player, it's probably why we have never had a squad

When he only scores 5-6 a year mate every one of them is important by consequence.

People want to pretend that it's all the manager's faults we have been in relegation battles and that he hasn't been scoring rather than simply acknowledging that we wouldn't be in the relegation battles for the last four seasons if he wasn't averaging 6 goals a year as our starting striker.

We have just seen Beto come in and smash Dominic's goal return in four matches. It's absolutely valid to debate whether the previous managers have made a mistake showing loyalty to a striker that has gone multiple stretches of 15 matches at a time without scoring.

I do agree in what your saying, but also since Moyes has been here every single player has looked completely different that include DCL in the games v Villa and Spurs, I do believe DCL will score goals in this team now

Maybe he should have signed the contract last year instead of running it down and showing those fans he doesn't want to be here.

I would imagine, when he was growing up with dreams of being a footballer on the playground he didn’t envision playing for a team allergic to passing and running forwards and having the ball aimed at his head every few minutes whilst getting elbowed in the back off cavemen centre halfs.

Doubt many of our team would be have been overly keen on a new contract by the sounds of things.

The thing with this argument is Dominic had chances under all of those managers and he just missed them.

That's not on any manager that he couldn't finish his dinner.

I wouldn't imagine there's many blues out there who go to bed dreaming of superb hold up play and not goals from our number 9.

"Having the ball aimed at his head" that's the exact service people complain he needs. It's just a constant shifting of the conversation to excuse his poor performance.

He's not Beto, you aren't playing a through ball and giving him time to make a decision. We have seen over eight years that isn't his game. His game is challenging for crosses and he's just as much a reason for the hoofball we played as the managers.

Unfortunately we just don't have the players to set him up with tap ins from 3 yards like he feasted on under Ancelotti.

It's weird because you're not really discussing the performances that's disingenuous you're here to slag Dom off. Dom's been poor no doubt about it but there are some mitigating circumstances.

However it matters not he is injured, possibly leaving soon, so no need to slag off an injured player for no reason than to gloat because Beto has scored a few, thankfully.

I also think that Ancelotti showed the blueprint for getting him to score and yet nobody since Ancelotti replicated the tactics..

We are comparing the two returns from both players this year.

Though every time we do we are reminded by an army of Dom supporters of a list of mitigating circumstances.
