FGS we all new DCL was eventually going to leave - but atm he is the best no 9 we have on our books like him or hate him {like you seem to do}

Got to be a zero percent chance he comes back next year. Even if you could convince yourself that the man will somehow begin to score goals, he's constantly not available.
For whatever reason you want to make up he's scored 17 league goals in the last 4 seasons, including a number of penalties. The 4.25 goals per season has to end if we want to push on

It's almost as if proper football clubs aren't falling over themselves to snap up a striker that averages about 6 goals a year for some bizarre reason...
That injury is probably the end of him TBH if it's the same hamstring ....he & Broja will make a deadly duo .....

Hopefully the injury isn't too bad and he's fit enough to move on in the summer, otherwise he'll end up signing our contract offer and we'll be stuck with one of the most goal-shy strikers in the Prem for another four years.
When your team is fighting relegation year after year & the nearest player was 30 yards away - DM was hoping to try & keep him for the signing on fee of 1.5 million we have done OK out of him - I know he has a poor one on one strikes, but he does & leads our front line well - we need more strikers that was always the case - to lose him even as back up if we sign a good no 9 is still a big blow for us ....

I get ya, but it's not enough of an argument for me. The lad's primary job is to put the ball in the net and quite simply he misses way more chances than he ever scores. No amount of "can hold up the ball" or "runs around a lot" negates that or is worth whatever ridiculous contract we've no doubt offered.
It's pretty clear the lad wants to move on, so if we can somehow manage to find ourselves a couple of strikers in the summer who can get 12-15 goals each, no one will care about work rate and what not. Can't cling on to strikers who can't score goals if we ever want to be anything more than a bottom-six team.
From his career point of view, he really is in the last chance saloon.
His injury record and scoring record , and going to make him a big risk.
No big clubs will take him.
That leaves promoted clubs, lower division of somewhere abroad like Turkey or middle east.
Only way he gets to stay in the premier will be as a third choice attacker somewhere.
Honestly I would withdraw any offer on the table if he is out for any length of time and just say thanks but goodbye you have got your wish good luck for the future.
We can't keep getting him fit , waiting for him to hit a scoring streak that never comes if we are seriously going to go forward as a club.
If he wants to stay after he gets fit offer him about 30,000 a week which is in reality what he is worth to us going forwards a squad filler.

Nah. We are a nice club. We would keep him and help his rehab until he was fit enough to go and sit on the barcodes bench !
I accept it was time to part ways but this injury has put us in loads of trouble!plus the Broja c9ck up does not help us either !

Get him fit as soon as possible, get him out the door at the end of the season, get an actual striker or two in during the summer. It's not rocket science, but I'm sure we'll find a way to do the complete opposite.
