Richardson is forever indicating he's getting off this summer...and last summer. DCL's agent is defo teeing him up for an exit.

Good riddance I'll say when/if it happens.

…remember when you said Townsend wasn’t happening, it was only rumoured to destabilise your hero manager. Then after he signed you said he’d play no more than 3 games.

i rarely believe anything you post.

Seems to be that this thread has just devolved to Dave saying he wants rid of our best players, and everyone else saying no. Just ignore him and let’s actually talk about DCL in a functional way?
Sadly hes not functioning, which means his haters get to jump all over him.

And when he comes back and he scores, they will point to his period out the side and think it justifies their agenda.

So yeah, we should probably ignore Dave and his anti-Everton ilk, this is a man that likened Benitez to the Pope, never forget.

I missed that one lol
lol lol lol lol

We got shut of a player 10x better than him in Lukaku. We paid for that, of course. But the point is that he'd be hardly missed if he left this summer.
Oh I'm sure he'd be missed Dave, but, the trick is, if we have to let him go, make sure it is for very serious money and have his replacement lined up before he goes. You mentioned Lukaku and we all know how long it took us to replace him.

Don't let your judgement be clouded, DCL is a very good centre forward and we won't find it easy to attract a replacement of a similar standard, we are hardly a desirable job option for top players with no baggage these days.

He WANTS to leave.

Let him.

We'll be just fine.
You’re much better off with players who are good enough to get moves to big* clubs, selling them for a huge profit and reinvesting than you are with players that aren’t good enough to be wanted by bigger clubs.

The end game is that you get enough of them so you’re successful enough that they don’t want to leave.

(*granted arsenal aren’t exactly successful at the moment, but it’s all comparative.)

I think you might be overestimating the task of replacing a player who has averaged 8 goals per season in the last 5 seasons.

I think his replacement was meant to be Diaz, but who can see the future. But that is now the benchmark of he leaves.

A player who has improved his goal tally year on year (until this season obviously as he has been injured). That's how players are supposed to develop, by getting better each year.

Started from a low base and had one decent season.

As said: if people think he's irreplaceable they have a very low regard for where we should be.
