So the only player to have scored over 20 goals in a season for us in the Premier League, bar Lukaku & The Yak, isn't good enough for the mighty Toffees. Wow, I just love how we right-off one of the few players to have actually performed for us and who has improved each season, barring his injury this season. Big Dunc, Beattie, Johnson, Saha, Rooney, Campbell, Kanchelskis, all failed to get to 20 goals at Everton. Give the guy a break, he's one of the few who actually deserve it.

For god's sake, in a season then. Don't be so pedantic. The point being that he scored 20 in a season when so many failed and he's in one of the worst teams we've ever had.

I think we can replace him with someone who is more usefull. DCL as targetman wastes too many chances and outside of that doesnt have many team contributing factors, wich modern football demands. He only scored well when he had a few players serving only him and that vs teams like West brom Albion, and even then he was erratic. Look at how Ronaldo dragged Man U results down when he started to do his one man show, and how his recent manager cut that out. How other modern, succesfull teams have forwards playing as a team, defending form the front. Can DCL do that? No. The most convincing for me was how he squandered the faith Ancelotti put in him, in winnable games the latter part of the 20/21 season. If I was Carlo, id resigned just because of DCL's performance alone.

If we had an actual football structure in place there’s maybe an argument to be made to try to negotiate Arsenal up to 70-80 to get the deal done now, play Richy as a 9 and invest in a cheaper, young talent as his backup and sink the bulk of the money into the midfield, go for guys like Berge or Golovin for example.
After all there’s no point having Richy and DCL both up front as they were on Saturday, when we have no quality in the midfield to get them the ball.
