Regardless of DCL's faults and there are some, leaving out the 2nd highest premier league goal scorer from the entire squad in the toughest game of the tournament so far has got to be the most baffling thing i have seen from Southgate to date and there have been some whoppers. The lad is an absolute bellend and is definitely the worst England Manager we have ever had, well apart from gravy's 5 minute stint.

It's madness, leaves out the only other player who can play the same role in a game that could easily go 120 minutes with 5 subs available and he takes a decent penalty.

Even if they do get through, Kane will probably be knackered by the next round.

This may be Niall Quinn's fault - Jack Charlton designated him as 3rd keeper for either euro88 or italia90 and only brought 2 regular keepers in the squad and I think they started bringing in specific rules about keepers after that.

No strikers in the England team have a hope of starting if Kane is available even if he isn’t 100% fit. It’s just like how Gerrard and lampard played whether they were performing or not. Unfortunately the England managers seem forced to play certain players what ever there form is.
