Could be a particularly harsh way of saying he’s crap, tbf. “He can no longer carry on [playing footy very well].”

Not really followed him since he left, I take it he isn't doing great. I don't want to stick up for the lad per se but Ancelotti did show a blueprint how to get the best out of him and yet nobody since has used the same tactic.

Not bothered now he's gone but I do find it strange that managers change him to fit their tactics instead of playing to his strengths. Mind you we can say that about Beto, we know he likes it played in behind and we aren't doing it for some reason.

Just because our current strikers are rubbish, that doesn't somehow make DCL good. He's a striker who can't finish. Plus, he doesn't really hold the ball up and bring others into play, it just hits him and runs on through to the defence. He was crap for us, cheap crap, but crap nonetheless!

….Ancelotti restricted him to playing central, I think his injuries means he’s largely doing that anyway. I very much doubt it’s anything tactical, I’d think the repeated thigh muscle injuries limit him, a bit like driving a car with the handbrake on.
