Does Ronaldo (the real one) get the recognition he deserves?

The original Ronaldo was a phenom. A guy his build should never of been as quick and graceful as he was. I loved France and Italy, but loved watching R9 as a kid.

The Ronaldo of Portugal, is one of those players where we love to hate him, but he is one of the greatest players ever. I use the term 'Evolution of Ronaldo', from that spotty kid at Lisbon to the Madrid Master, he has become a legend.

When asked to compare, I choose the original Ronaldo, simply because he played against some of the modern defensive greats. Ronaldo of Portugal now plays against a defence where David Luiz is £50m lol

Think he has a stigma about him over the 98 world cup final debacle. Seems he is remembered more for that than being a genius.

In his prime ie. before the injury/weight issues, he was better than Cristiano, no doubt! The way he moved with the ball was a joy to watch.

Even the post-injury, overweight version of him managed to win the World Cup for Brazil

One of the greatest of all time, no doubt!

Shhhh.... i'll whisper it.... there are still some people in this world who believe Cristiano Ronaldo is better than Messi.... I know... strange innit..poor souls.
Different types of player really. Messi wasn't much good last night.

He'll always get the recognition he deserves from those who saw him play and especially those who played with/against him...the guy famously didn't train hard, or at all sometimes, as well. Born to ball.

This was ultimately his downfall, same with Ronaldinho. Both absolute gods of football, amazingly talented and could do things with a ball most pros would only dream of but didn't put the effort in that could have made them untouchable for a longer period.

The difference between Cristiano and Ronaldo is ultimately fitness and dedication, it's criminal that Ronaldo and Ronaldinho didn't dominate the World Player of the Year award in the same way Messi and Cristiano have, 2 of the greatest players ever.

Cristiano and Messi are both pretty good as well like.
