Bruce Wayne

Player Valuation: £100m
Ryan Giggs said in his post match interview that the title was yet again going to be decided by the 'big four' despite Liverpool currently occupying 7th spot in the table and the season being just 12 games old.

Do you think the Premier League are worried that their product has become so predictable?

I doubt it. The media are on side and they're lining each other's pockets quite nicely, whilst the rest of us keep paying up anyway - market forces, I suppose, but the market's distorted, for me, where the irrational passions of a football fan are involved. We're being taken advantage of, but we keep bending over for more.

The [Poor language removed] will not finish in the top four this season. I am convinced. They are shameful for the money they have spent. Onionhead for the Onionsack this summer. I will guarantee it. The yanks have spent to win and make money. Not another 5 yawn plan.

Come on...its obvious.

No-one else has a chance of winning the league anymore.

Even Liverpool, so Id call it the big three.

What does the game need to make it more competitive?

A SALARY CAP.

Right across the whole game.

What do you think?

i think cesc fabulous's agent would welcome that move, Real will pay you, and pay you real money.

christiano ronaldo? bye bye

it would harm the top earners, and how often do performers take a wage cut.

The only thing the Premier League will worry about is:

"Where the hell are we going to store all this cash!!!!!WOOOOOO!!!!!!!"

Surely not?

I mean the only way it would work is for FIFA to impose a salary cap as per league.

Its only for fairness, and the top leagues would have diffent pay scales than the bottom leagues.

Okay so I can hear the world throwing up their arms and saying 'that'll never happen!!'

But I ask the question...why not?

The only thing the Premier League will worry about is:

"Where the hell are we going to store all this cash!!!!!WOOOOOO!!!!!!!"

The extra money goes into stadium infrastructure, junior player development and not the ridiculously attired players and agents. Theyll be payed well enough, but on a fair scale, and it increases competition. You dont like it, go and work on a building site. Money distibuted evenly, a level playing field with players moving on to clubs that can afford them, and less of the haves and have nots. Cheaper seats at games. More seats due to the fact clubs can invest more in their grounds. Less fat cats.

Unlimited sponsorship clauses but within reason. It will stop rich clubs stockpiling talent.

I think its a great idea. Footballers have become overpaid, the business is killing itself, the playthings of billionaires.

Im as mad as hell and Im not going to take it anymore.

Deloitte, the accountants famous for their reviews of football finances, predict that overseas tv revenues will equal, if not surpass, domestic tv revenues in 2010 when the next deal is due to be struck.

The prem league will not give two hoots who ever wins the title as long as the TV money keeps rolling in. TBH it does seem as though it will be between Manure, Arse and Chelski. What I would really like though is for the RS to be pipped to 4th place and let us Onionhead moan then. I am sure there are no more rules that can be bent but you never know.

Similar to the current housing market, premiership fooball is in a bubble, eventually someone will overstretch themselves to get a piece of the action, as ITV digital did and then that bubbles gonna pop.

Think how many non-premierhship clubs were brought to their knees with the collapse of ITV digital, well take that and multiply it by 10 times to get what would happen to the premiership if the money was withdrawn.

So to answer your original question Bruce, no I dont think the premier league are worried cos right now their swimming in money, but I think they damn well ought to be worried because this cant last forever.

if the international rights expand, then the premiership will be the world league.

such a monster would be worth billions in possible sponsorship/advertising revenues.

Yeah thats right.

The thing is the businessmen will push and push and push this sport as business thing until the common fan looses interest. To be fair we're a long way off that at the moment in my opinion, but imagine how big and ridicilous it could get and then prolong that for years, the common fan will eventually get tired of it and withdraw their money. And its the common fan which is the supporting foundation of this big money pyramid, so when thats gone, it will all come crashing down.

OR to stop this from happening then fifa, the fa or anyone could step in to limit how much money can be pumped around the game and prevent this possible crash. But we know this will never happen. Greed will continue to fuel it.
