Mostly the political threads where there is good debate going on that sometimes leads down an ugly path for some users that gets a thread locked.

Rather see the offenders just thread banned so the debate can continue.

I don't even participate in those threads, but I do like to read them.

Problem with that is mods absolutely have to be on the ball with thread banning someone because he's genuinely being a knob/wum and not because his opinion is "offending" people.

I mean that is their job really anyway and they do it well but having a load more thread bans, it's inevitable that they'll be used to calm a discussion down in the wrong way.

In response to the original question.....no, we don't have too much power. If anything, we have been reigned in a bit with this (new) forum software. I can't even rig polls anymore :/

Nobody gets Banned any more they just get permanently 'Infracted'.

When people say they loved 1984 they were meaning our team back then not George 'Newspeak' Orwell

If you want a vision of the GOT future, imagine a Woolly Mammoth foot stamping on yer metatarsals - forever.

:p

The mods don't have nearly enough power.

I think it should be compulsory to include your home address with your account and legally agree that anyone deemed an enemy combatant of the website can and will be detained indefinitely without trial.

The seamine throwing was for old times sake. It was a mainstay of the GOT Ultra's, the most prominent members of which were me, @chicoazul and @ctjr (no longer a member, but whom I had the pleasure of meeting along with his dad @CanadaToffee at a preseason game against the Philadelphia Union a couple of years ago)

Canadians...trying to act all pacifist but they throw mines and allow fighting in their national sport. They've snowed the world.
