Do Bosmans get bigger wages?

Player Valuation: £35m
Really basic question. I haven't heard about it too often, but if a player leaves his club on a free, is he more likely to be offered a signing bonus or higher wages? In theory this would make sense, since a club would be willing to risk a fixed amount on a player, and without having to pay a transfer fee they would be willing to make up the difference elsewhere.

But I was curious if it works out that way in practice. For instance, is Barry on bigger wages than the rest of the squad because of this?

The economics suggest this is true; Bosmans should be able to create savings for the signing club and transfer some of those savings into their salary.

Bosman transfers are quite often an awful idea for a few reasons, including this.
Well, i get why in some areas, but lets use Lennon as an example. Lets say Spurs want 6mil for him. Couldnt we just not spend that 6 mil on him and give a bosman a big signing bonus for, i dont know, 2-3mil and you've saved 3mil?

Not sure, Besic's isn't that high as far as I know. Dunno about Dzeko etc.
