So says metro ?
How odd,it would appear that this comic of a free paper (distributed on trains and stations) is first with all the latest transfer rumours.
Metroman is a poster on kipper, who whenever he gets chance to, posts a link up to the said comic.

DJ Campbell? What?

Admittedly, I haven't seen Bothroyd play a ton, but he wasn't very impressive against Reading in the playoffs.

Bothroyd if worth a pop, like Beckford he will not be a world beater but he will be a decent target man and better than Anichebe

errrm, DJ Campbell scored 15 goals for a side that was relegated, so I don't see how signing him for as little as 750k is a bad thing at all, also I have said before that Bothroyd would be a good signing for no fee, been the best player in the championship after taraabt this year.

Because we have Beckford already and they're exactly the same type of player.

And well, Blackpool scored more goals than any side relegated for fifty odd years, they were set up to attack, and Campbell started every game. Not to down play the lad, he's had a great season, but in terms of minutes per goal, I reckon Beckford's done better.

If beckford played for blackpool this season he would of scored ****load as well, blackpool have a rugby score in every game as well.

I can't see it happening but If we did sign these guys it would be as backup, not sure if they would be a disruption in the dressing room, if they weren't to get the game time.

Yeah, Bothroyd would be backup for the Saha/Anichebe/Yakubu/Velios role. And Campbell would be backup for Beckford.

But I don't think we need backup for Beckford as much as we need a partner for him, who isn't a) pissing off to leicester, b ) going to spend half the season injured or c) fecking Anichebe.

Which is why I can see Bothroyd but not Campbell. Rather just use Silva if we really need a fast young striker on the bench.
