Anyone been through a divorce in the UK?

Where did you find help etc. I’ve seen a few sites but everything for men seems to ask for money upfront and everything for women is free!

It’s also mostly about getting access to the kids but I shouldn’t have an issue with that part hopefully.

Anyone who has been through it able to offer any guidance where I could find out information etc please? Or anyone get good help from somewhere and could point me in that direction?

Feels like the mrs is walking around the house with a calculator, threatening me with all sorts. All the financial burden appears to be on me. Is this always the case?

Haven't mate thank God..but watch mate all her mates and so forth will be giving info to leave you pottless.. keep your head up and be one step ahead. It's not always a bloke's fault..

I don't think there's a single point of reference/one stop shop, with regards to divorce I'm afraid.
Most important of all is to focus on the kids, keep in with them, and keep yourself surrounded with family etc that you trust

Cheers mate, that’s the worry, she’s on all sorts of Facebook groups and getting advice from everywhere. There’s loads of help out there for women. Every search I do comes up with help for women. Suddenly everything is all my fault and she’s claiming she’s entitled to all sorts.

Sounds like you need legal help mate. If you feel like she's making unsubstantiated claims or unfair claims to assets, them you may need to go to court.

Presumably she's initiated divorce proceedings? If so, on what grounds? Who owns the house? Etc.

Each case will be different.

Reading between the lines she’s trying to railroad you into agreeing to stuff off the back of a load of stuff online. I'd defo get a good legal eagle if you're disputing stuff.

Drag it out as much as possible.
Just pretend there's a chance of reconciliation, even if you hate her.
She'll bankrupt you and probably ruin your mental health.
Don't get divorced.

If you haven’t already got a Solicitor (?) Citizens Advice would probably point you in the right direction!

Keep a detailed diary. Access, access requests, refusals. Keep texts.
Things may be good between you two but once the solicitors take over it gets scappy.
Had experience, not me, my sisters.
But it's important to be able to recall dates times and info etc. Good luck, shame you need this.

Yeah she initiated it, but in fairness it’s been coming for a few years, house in both names, but I’ve got a good pension, savings etc. and she’s claiming she’s entitled to everything. She’s got very little bar her share in the house to add to the pot. So it’s all on me. Should hear some of the stuff she comes out with, but yeah I think she is trying to get me to just walk away and leave everything to her and start again.

Half any other assets.
I've even heard it's 60/40 against the male.
Potential to spend thousands of pounds to get custody of kids,even if she messed about.
And still lose...or win.

The bit on disagreement is the one you want. You'll need to get a mediator before going through the court. It may make her cool off a little.
