Distin

At least 6 or 7 of the goals we've conceded this season have been down to poor work from Howard, imo. The clean sheets thing is annoying but when you look at our league position relative to our goals conceded it shows up as not being too much of an issue.

The real problem is that we just don't score enough. Only one team in the top 8 has scored less (WBA).

Bit rich to have a go at Osman mate.

He cares, and he's small.

Really like Ossie you know, not going to have a go at him for one bad game or if there's someone apparently better than him we should be signing. There aren't four players in our squad who deserve a game ahead of him so there you have it - he won't come off the pitch with a clean shirt, pity the same isn't the case for some others.

Any cross into the box is a threat. Used to be our bread and butter but the amount of poor heded goals, or goals from crosses not being dealt with have been disgusting.

Thats why I had hoped Duffy might have been given some game time- a big powerful centre half renowned for being a presence in the air.

From what I remember he gives it a good go too. It's clear Heitinga's not bothered. Probably done Distin no favours playing with him to be fair to the big fella.

I like him too mate. It's always been clear that he can't play CM unless it's next to someone combative who can get round the pitch. He hasn't got the legs for it. Shame he's not playing a bit further up. One of the few capable of making things happen around the box.

First real bit of sense and optimism I've read for a while....love Sylvain to lead us out.

I'd like to see it go to Baines or Gibson and for it to stay there for the next five years TBH. No room for sentiment in football. Distin isn't a good communicator.

Distin isn't a good communicator.

No? Maybe it's because he's usually plays with Jagielka who as vice-captain (and often wears the armband) feels obliged to do the shouting and Distin is fine with that.

I think Distin is pretty confident and pointy on the pitch, and our back four at the moment he is the stand out leader. Don't forget this lad was captain of City.

Made a bad back pass in an FA Cup game, immediately called himself out after the game in the interview...not captain.

Someone else could take a lesson...

Aye, I noticed this. Of course Distin's pass was more pivotal to the outcome of the game given the scores but he came out and said afterwards that he'd let everyone down and apologised a lot. I've yet to see Neville even admit he made a mistake.

It's a very good point, Neville has a very big ego, even off the pitch, which isn't a surprise. I have huge respect for Distin, he admits his mistakes, which is something Neville hasn't done. The quicker the captains armband goes to someone else the better, Neville is useless now.
