To be more specific: If Neville, at 34, and being a gash player, can con a 2 year deal, why is Distin, one of our best players, only being offered a one year extension?

Distin seems to be enjoying his football for us at the moment, he has been in form and consistent for the last 3 years, surely not offering him a contract extention would be a step backwards.

People have this thing about footballers reaching 30 and being past it. 'If your good enough your old enough' people say that about young players, this applies to Distin for me, he hasn't shown any drop in performance so age shouldn't come into it.

As super ace as he is, he'll be 34 by next summer when his contact runs out. We should be offering him a one year deal here I think. Having a 36 year old on our books earning 40k or so would hurt us surely
