My first mortgage was ten pounds eight shillings and sixpence per month (1959). It was like a millstone round my neck! My disposable income was half-a-crown.

Its a term used by economists for the income you have left over after paying all your bills, living expenses etc.,

Im having to do a lot of rearranging with my money at the moment, 3 kids all in nursery at the same time will make you weep. 100 a week disposable would make me so happy, as it stands I work to live at the moment.

I’m not sure mate, but loads of these seem to have it.

wish we had £100 a week disposable between the 5 of us.


& at times you can change that week to month.

Its odd. The other day I was sent 3 months of bank statements, and over the 3 months we spent about £200 less than was paid in.
