JAYTALITY
Player Valuation: £30m
Barks is the type of player I would have worshiped as a kid and young teen. I'm 26 now and find I'm at an age where a player has to do his time and score the od winner here and there v man u and pool to get my admiration. I guess worshiping Jeffers and Rooney does that and, also, my ultimate childhood hero is Duncan Ferguson. It puts things in perspective though.
I use to hear Evertonians sticking Ferguson down a peg. It would frustrate me but as I gauge today's player up against Ferguson, so did certain Evertonians have players from the the best period in Evertons history to compare to Dunc. Being a kid and teen ya don't wanna hear any smack about your hero but I'm older now and so with age I come to understand all generations of Toffees. Its been a slow learning curb because growing up in Dublin I could go months without seeing a Toffee until I came over for the annual game or two.
I guess I made this a thread of its own is to get a discussion going on such things as
# unified perspective from younger and older generations of Toffees on players and success
# and for foreign Evertonians, their perspective on it from the outside
