Differences between Everton and Spurs

Tbf to Spurs they be probably in a lot better position had they not been done out of CL in the 2nd year when Chelsea won it, they have one of the best goalies in the league and a young kid who can't seem to do anything wrong atm.

We haven't won anything since 1995, Spurs have won the League Cup twice since then... everyone seems to be creaming themselves over the possiblity of us winning it this season, but you have to perform and win games to earn anything. This is not something we are doing this season or last season.

Everton don't have some divine right to to be in the cup finals every year, or winning European cups just becasue we have done in the past. Back then we actually had arguably the best keeper in the world for a start.

I'm young, I can barely remember the FA Cup match now, but I get that it sucks seeing what Everton are, have been, how football is, Sky money etc etc. but the facts are right now, they have a better Chairman and business board, better manager and a better team. They'll also soon have a better stadium.

Now I'll probably get negged for this, and I've said it before, but Everton & fans need to stop living in the past. It's fine putting up murals, galleries and celebrating amazing achviements but using them as excuses or reasoning as to why we should have this or won that just isn't on. Football fundamentally is still the same on the pitch, you still need to score goals and not conceed them to win matches, win points, win leagues and cups. We haven't done that for quite some time now and it's not going to change any time soon while the current board and manager is in place.

For all the hundreds of millions their wealthy owners have spent they have won sweet F All. Joke of a club. I have a cousin down here who is a supporter and we take the piss out of our respective clubs for their mediocity.
His laughter stops when I remind him of our history...

Yay, we won loads that one time. As if Spurs fans care about that, when they're in with an actual realistic shout of winning the title and we're rotting in 12th

The fans get behind the young players, I don't see them getting on Ali's back if he does a backwards pass.

Just wait until things are going bad for Spurs.

That lot are bigger moaners than we are....that's how the club goes through so many managers.

Our fans get on players backs after multiple backwards passes which are symptomatic of a general lack of ideas or tactics. I don't think spurs fans would be so understanding if they were 12th in the table and playing the utter crap we are

That wouldn't be.

I have been at Spurs when things have been going bad for them.....they turn nasty on their team.

We shouldn't compare ourselves to them anymore, they're seriously ahead of us and will be until something changes with either us or them.
West Ham will also soon be in a much better position than us.
And if Leicester's purple patch continues past this season (which i still think is unlikely) they might become unreachable to us too.

I'm not an expert on football or finances so i won't scream about what Everton needs right now. A new manager will always be a risk, we'll more likely become like Villa than like Spurs, or maybe not, who knows. But it's very unlikely that we will sack Bobby so there's no point in even discussing that.
An investment is needed but it doesn't seem realistic to me, unless there are new owners and i'm not sure that is the answer too.

If nothing changes, and i think nothing will change in the foreseeable future, we have to get used to mid-table finishes and hope Bobby can win us a cup or maybe we will have another good season under him like his first. Just get behind the team and hope for the best.
