despite be the last team outside the so called big 4 to qualify for the champions league, and despite finishing 5th last season and reaching the FA Cup final, disposing of Man U, Liverpool, Aston Villa et al, on the way....

The pundits think the most likely teams to break into the top 4 are Man City, Aston Villa, Tottenham (every year they are supposedly going to do it) West Ham Due to the Zola effect and Fulham.

normally i'd agree, but this year i can't really blame them...

I was talking to a mate before about man citeh. We agreed them gettin an fa or carling cup would mean a lot to them, shows they're progressing. I said well we've finished 4th, carling cup semi, fa cup final, twice 5th all on moyes spending 500k net and not 200mill.

Villa spent more and the media were expecting more, just like they wrote them off before they beat the rs the other night.

Us getting 4th a few years ago was, to the press, the failings of the rs than us getting that 4th.

It's just like us not winning a game as of yet. For some strange reason the press don't see it a crisis point based on performances, they see it as something that should happen all the time and where we should be.
