Someone timed the knockdown and count and it was just under 10 seconds.

The only thing dodgy about the fight was the Mexican judges card in favour of wilder .

I’ve tried to reiterate that my knockdown comment was a throwaway line , nothing more than that other than to accentuate how stunned and impressed I was by fury getting up .

I honestly don’t think there was a gap on the counting. If you look at the clock on a replay, it is 10/11 seconds from punch to an upright fury.

That said, I honestly don’t think he was sparko. He was on his way down off that right, in a semi decision like fall, like in the 9th. The left wasn’t clean, and just motioned him in a different direction to the canvas as he was already decided on going down. The skewed left follow up didn’t put him away in my opinion.

It’s not just the punch for me , punches are strange and we’ve seen shots that look perfect not do the job and something glance the temple finish somebody that said the punch looked good when it hit , following up from the first . It’s the way he hit the deck , it was the way he hit the floor and that first 4 seconds or so .

the head bounce reversed the first punch I reckon, mad as that sounds
