I wondered this same thing earlier. It's not ideal but we've got to move on from what's now happened. If there's a half decent striker available we should honestly have a look

About now, but Free transfers are available to get and be registered until the end of September, if I'm not wrong.

Everton have leeway in their numbers to sign a free agent (perhaps from a European club?) - so no problem there if one should be available.

5pm today is the squad deadline. Can add U21s to that at any point.

It's not going to happen, and while Mikel is a big loss I think it will open doors for other players in our squad to shine.

Not a lot about thats worth thinking about - Rather have faith in Bily & some more of the kids having some sort of an impact...

Speaking from memory here - you are available to register players joined on free transfers until the 30th of September (at least)

Can you not add free transfers at any time? Don't know the rules any more

The strikeforce does worry me. Saha, great IF fit, Anichebe, ok on the right and Denis, no one knows but I'm struggling to remember many Argentinian strikers setting in too well on their first season. Gueye, Hope and McAleny may suddenly get their call
