….very interesting how this season pans out for him. He started last season well then fell away alarmingly. Apparently he was similar when he joined his previous club.

He’s a talented individual, I wonder if he can ever maintain form of a lengthy period. Only time will tell.
If his form to tails off here I can see him being effectively replaced in January mate, think consistency is something we're looking to add throughout the first 11

….I think a really potent wide attacker will be the next brick in the wall. It would make a huge difference if we had genuine threat in the top third.

Yeah that's it for me. The consistency thing is normal for players like him, he's an instinctive player and takes risks. Sometimes those risks come off and he looks good, sometimes they don't and he doesn't. I don't think there's any great secret to it, he just performs like an average PL player overall because that's exactly what he is.

I'd go a bit further than inconsistency mate, I think he's a streaky player - so a stretch of good then a stretch of poor, key I guess is swapping him in and out to minimize/maximize him in those periods

Yeah, agreed. He’s a good player worth way more than what we paid. He’s not spectacular tho. He’s not in the Richarlison bracket, never mind the Beardsley or Kanchelskis bracket. Everton ARE capable of signing top bracket players!

Personally, I think Lampard has done a real good job in strengthening the defence and midfield, and if we were to add one or two explosive wing forwards, then we’d be a very effective side! Wing forwards is now the area that requires strengthening.
If the stars align, I think he'll push very hard for Pulisic.

We'd have to be in a much, much healthier league position come January, though.

Tend to agree, I think Pedro will be getting kept a close eye on upto Christmas to see if he's adding that to his game, Kudus looked very good the other day mate second half for Ajax - although he's definitely not a wide player but central.

Think any will have to be a try grab them as they're on the verge of breaking through and before they have done though in our current model and financial situ

Maybe. I'm not sure his career as a whole necessary suggests that though to be honest. I think really he just had a run of form when he first came here which is probably a fair bit better than anything he's ever done before, and people went a bit over the top about it. He then returned to being the type of player he's always been. I think people always try to make inconsistency out to be some sort of weird mystery when in reality it's just the key indicator of how good a player actually is.

There's a player at Spuds that fits that description. Richy something or other.
Wodja say @Eggs, think we should put in a cheeky bid in the January window? Get Macca's consortium up and running again to raise the brewsters.
