If he's fit why wouldn't we use him until he hits the limit before we need to pay up?
We are paying his salary week in week out so any use we can get out of him we should take.
100% shouldn't be thinking of keeping him beyond the 6 games though, unless the contract finishing also finishes the obligation to Spurs.
I think even then he would suit a move to a quieter environment like MLS

All this talk of of a £10m payment if he plays more than another 6 games.
Anyone take into account that after the said 6 games he will also become a £10m asset to the club so in affect costing us nothing.

People honestly believe if he couldn't regain even a modicum of his past skill he wouldn't be a vastly superior option to doucoure as attacking midfielder, as dele can actually control a ball and place basic passes unlinked Doucoure who serves a purpose but is a lot better off the ball and played further back
unfortunately most of our players are better footballers when they don’t actually have the ball

If we pay anything for him I can see at least a 12 month extension.

If we pay anything then he must be doing better than what we have so could warrant a new contract anyway.
Yeah I agree with this point that if we do pay anything an extension or an option to extend at the end of the season need to happen alongside otherwise we are just throwing money down the drain.

But bear in mind also the first 10m is just the first payment not the total so we’d need to pay more after more appearances. There’s really no way we can do it without renegotiating with Spurs.

We don't know if this has already happened. We may have come together to help the player.

Levy isn't soft. If it's a choice of nothing ever or a few million in a few years then we know what he go for.

We hold all the cards if he wants to hold out for top dollar.
