…we can’t move him on if nobody wants to take him so it’s probably a matter of him staying with us but never playing him.
try to agree a deal to pay him up on half his contract now in a lump sum so he’s then a free agent to scam another club in to giving him one? Not a lot else we can do, absolutely disastrous signing on his wages. Well done meddling Bill, you utter cretin.

We lose every way with him. If we play him and he's crap, we give Spurs £10million. If he doesn't play we give him £100k or whatever he is on for sitting on his arse.

Even if we loan him out we will have to pay a large portion of his wages.

I guess if he was used for 12 matches and the pay come to an agreement to let him go it might be the best option.

Make him train with U23s, force him out, and if he doesnt want to then cancel his contract.. but never ever agree to pay up half his contract

So, treat him like an outcast and pay him all of his contract instead? Nobody is paying to take him off us so it’s now purely a money saving exercise to get rid of him. Under his contract he’s owed another 12 months here unless he agrees otherwise.

That's the most likely I'd imagine - receive £2-3 million quid to cancel his contract so that he can go to Saudi and earn treble what he was getting at us a week earlier. Life of luxury to somebody so, so undeserving.

Yes, pay him his contract to come in and train everyday with U23s.. see how he fancies it.
We've got to stop being an easy touch.
Why pay the guy £2.5m to walk away and find another side?
If he wants to play elsewhere then he'll need to accept the best offer he gets.

Why should we?
If he has offers to play in Saudi for more wages surely we could let him go for free?

Because they'll probably not want to pay a fee for him as they'll know of Everton's dilemma (we can't keep him as he's on £100k a week and we're obligated to pay Spurs up to £20m if he participates in a certain number of games this season).

If Alli gets an offer from Saudi but the club doesn't want to pay for him then Everton have three options:
1. Keep him on £100k a week but not play him
2. Pay him off so that he leaves
3. Keep him on £100k a week, play him, pay Spurs up to £20m which we don't have

Alli's agent will know the best option by far for Everton is for his client to be paid off to leave. It'd save Everton about £2-3m (negotiating a 50% payoff) vs keeping him on £5m a year but not playing him to avoid having to pay Spurs.

folk saying kick him out, cut him adrift etc. I know he's been bone idle & there's definitely something not right, but is the more chance of Dyche getting something out of him than there was Koeman with Niasse ? cos folk kicked right off at his treatment & rightly so.

Best of a bad deal, but would Dele take a paycut ? And under the terms of the deal, which no one knows except the 2 clubs, would Everton be allowed to do that. ?

I think he'd probably accept a pay cut. He doesn't seem remotely bothered about much of anything tbf but he'll command a decent wage in Saudi Arabia due to his name and history on the international stage if they take him. Also, going on a free gives his agent a bit more leverage to negotiate a better deal.
