Sorry, people think he’s our replacement for Richie?

Had his chance last season, couldn’t get in the team, called out by Lampard for not trying hard enough in training - should have been told to go. Now we’ll end up paying a fee for him.

An embarrassingly desperate gamble.

Kept us from needing a win on the last day, with his second half performance v Palace. I don’t think anyone thinks he’s the replacement for Richie, they’re totally different players that play in different positions. He could be a very useful addition if he’s used properly, but to do that we need new players in other positions; which is what will probably be our downfall next season.

Sell and replace with Lingard on a free providing he lowers his wage demands.

It's sad to say but Dele whilst worth the gamble at the time is clearly finished as a top level player.

Doesn’t have a clue how to do anything other than pop up in decent positions in and around the penalty area. That’s all he has to his game.

Like Thomas Muller?

Theyre both "Space invaders" or "Raumdeuters" as the Germans say.

Literally find space and offer a threat...needs team mates to pick them out.

I'd say hes also a 'proper snide' as we saw last season and a solid passer as well.

Confidence player.

Yes I agree , I've no confidence in him.

If he isn’t going to play behind the striker then hmm can’t see what he’ll offer.

Tbh in a team that isn’t likely to be on the ball too much this season and needs people who are good off the ball then he’s probably one of the least suitable players I can think of.

Imo We should cut our losses and sell him before the various appearance influenced fees kick in.

He played a lot off the left wing for Spurs, but in my view the only way we can get the most out of him is by playing 4-3-3 and him having a free role ahead of two proper midfielders.

If we’re keeping 5 at the back, we should sell him. Which would be a shame as we’d be a much better team with him involved in a 4-3-3.

To be fair he was hugely underwhelming last season so it’s not that surprising. People have pinned their hopes on him magically transforming back into the player he was over the last 6 weeks and last night has brought them back to earth with a bump.
But last night is meaningless.
If he starts the first few games of the season and doesn’t contribute then I’ll be disappointed but I couldn’t give a toss what happens on an American friendly tour.
