Well.. no, there is no player named "Defenders", but instead of starting a thread for each and every new player that pops up, why not create a single thread instead?

Saw a link to a spurs side that we might go for Hutton. Only a rumour, but he's young and might be of a type to interest Moyes, and he's a RB and that is our weakest point in our defensive lineup.

TBH I don't think he has proven himself at this type of level, could be an alright back up but nothing more

I think we're fine in back right now.

If we get a defender on a free and reasonable wages, then I'd say that it wouldn't hurt to add another. But to put 5M down on a defender just wouldn't make sense based on our budgetary constraints and much, much more pressing needs in other positions on the pitch.

Its not enough mate, you have Lescottt twice. I dont like playing with our three centre half on the pitch at the same time its asking for trouble. Every top club should also have four out and out centre halfs.

Every top club should but when you have the money constraints we do, then you've got to strengthen where you really need it. Defense is the last place to spend right now.

Like I said, I don't mind us getting a player in on a free as insurance but I don't want us blowing 5M+ on any defender right now.

Well that depends mate, picking up Mancinne on loan with a view to a perm or Naughton for 3- 4 could be great buissness.

Mancinne is potentialy a England centre half and if we could agree a perm deal going into the future it could be great buissness.

Equally with Naughton, if he turns into a Glen Johnson type of player hes looking like he could bring a lot to the team not ony from a defensive perspective.

It depends whats in the market to be fair, if it makes sound sense to invest into oung internationals i think it woudl be great on and of the pitch.

There also is the 18 year old german kid. He might get some action if he is as good as the germans say he is. But I won't count on him until the next season at the earliest.

Either another LB or CD of the needed quality would make me feel safer. A RB if we won't resign Jacobsen is also a must.

Think we'll get a RB or a RW and that's it. Think Neville could cover if Lescott and/or Yobo get injured (they've been our 2 most durable players...knock on wood) so we won't need a squad player at CB.

Jacobsen is playing LB for Denmark in their game vs Sweden tonight in the qualification to the WC.
