45 mate, I did get questioned last time as I had tanned somewhat & there were reports of a possible suicide bomber by the pool, dark skin, adidas trunks, hand grenade hidden about their person.

Won't somebody please think of the children ?

Thing is, Trunks=The Rule of The Pool in Italy, in one that is for those wanting to do lengths you must wear a swim cap as well although my lack of locks means I can go 'Goodhew.'
If you were to go 'sunbathing' in the typical Brit style i.e. big long baggy shorts then you'd be looked upon as some kind of weirdo as folk wont even be wearing them away from waterborne activity. Tennis shorts is for that.

wont quite be this crowded....

I shan't be wearing a 'Facekini' as they do in China, where having a tan signifies that you work outside so are some kind of peasant, whereas preserving pale skin is a sign of being pampered.

Their pools do get full.

The popular slang expression used for going swimming is "boiling dumplings" because public pools are so crowded that all a person can do is stand on the spot.

Lack of swimming facilities is the main reason why pools are crowded in China, and because of this people cannot pursue swimming as a year-round hobby. “Many local governments cannot generate enough money from indoor pools to run them year-round”, said Zhang Yeduan, deputy head of the Hongkou Public Pool, Shanghai's largest.

But the number of facilities is increasing as incomes rise and privately run gyms with pools proliferate. Some of these pools are massive. The “Dead Sea of China” is a sal****er swimming pool located in Daying county, Sichuan province, inspired by the original Dead Sea in the Middle East. The pool covers an area of 30,000 square meters and accommodate up to 10,000 visitors at once. Another swimming pool in the Yao Stink district is able to accommodate a staggering 230,000 swimmers at one time.

A brummie has to have named that district.

Disappointed no Cheese on Toast option, would be ideal beach wear and a handy snack as long as you don't go swimming.
