Moved from Liverpool to the Fylde Coast in 1978 so I was 10 years old when we moved.

Went to St Matthews on Queens Drive when I was a kid at primary. Lived at Larkhill View off Larkhill Lane but also then lived above the Aintree Pub in Bootle as my dad was the landlord there.

Particular memories are things like the queens jubilee and street parties, the banana splits and the Arabian knights. Listening to football on radio Merseyside and Latchford getting his 30 goal season with Dave Thomas on the wing.

Slade
T rex
Punk
Bowie
Kraftwerk
Fashion changing every year
Long hair Birmingham bags
Skins , scally, punks, mods ect
All with there own club pub scenes
Kids playing out all day
Caravan holidays in Wales or camping with the lads.
Rhyl being OK.
The local pub.
Mass scally exodus to Southport or Blackpool one year on a bank holiday Sunday.
Paying in at the gate,
the parkend,
Thousands outside Goodison waiting for away fans , not hundred literally thousands for some games, not good really but it was some sight.
Bad side , Thatcher
mass unemployment
The decay in the City.
Smack.
Local Community's seemed to start breaking up.
Poverty.
Bad food, (although I still would still like vesta beef curry, I think? ).
power cuts,
Strikes in general.
Hatred for scousers everywhere in the country, was it always that way.
I was in school till half way through the decade and hated it, but it had its good pionts towards the latter part of the decade.

Some of the greatest music ever produced by some of the greatest bands.

Iconic cars, designed by creative engineers, nit the wind tunnel and a photocopier.

Flares, cheesecloth and Bell bottoms.

1976 and the ladybird glut.

Great tv shows and films especially sci-fi - solent running especially.

The beano and a bag of sweets for around 5p

Advertising-free kits.

Minimal ads on the telly.

Choice of 3 channels each rammed with interesting programmes... no 3 hour search of 250 channels for something that will be a disappointment.

You could spot the wealthiest in society because they had a slightly bigger cars a bigger house and gold-plated taps. Today it's several houses around the world, several super cars and mega yachts. The poor are just the same.

Loved the 70s .... by far my favourite decade so far.
